Core values are what define a business. These are what we live by, what we coach by, and what we use to provide top notch service for our patients. But we often hear from our dentists that they are unsure on how to create values for their business. 

The best way to establish core values is to get include your team and work together!

Easier said than done, I’m sure. 

So we’ve created a few ways that you can buckle down and start creating values as a team! 

Involve Employees

Encourage employees to participate in the process of creating core values. This way, everyone feels invested in the values and is more likely to abide by them.

Define the Purpose

Clearly articulate the purpose of the values, such as how they will guide decision-making, promote company culture, or influence company behavior.

Study Company Culture

Evaluate the current company culture to identify which values are already embedded in the organization and which values need to be strengthened.

Get Input From Stakeholders

Gather input from key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and investors, to ensure that the core values reflect the needs and expectations of everyone affected by the organization.

Make Values Actionable

Ensure that the core values are specific, measurable, and actionable. Provide examples of how each value should guide decision-making and behavior in the workplace.

Reinforce Values Regularly

Regularly reinforce the core values through company communications, training, and recognition programs. Lead by example by modeling the values in daily interactions and decision-making.

It’s important to establish core values in your business so that you can start performing as a team, rather than as individuals. Take these ideas back to your team and plan a team meeting to create your values! If you already have core values established, maybe it's time to reevaluate them!
