Being a loved dentist is the goal for most of us, right? When our patients love us, they tell their friends and family and coworkers about us, which helps to grow our business. 

But how do you become a dentist that is loved by their patients?

One of my favorite icebreakers, when I am stuck on a plane next to strangers, is, "Do you have a dentist that you love going to?"

A common response is something like, “My dentist knows me and my family and always inquires about us, our activities, our hobbies, etc. They know me, they hear me, they listen to me and I never feel like a number!”

Let’s be honest. 

Patients want a dentist who is knowledgeable, skilled, and professional, and who provides comprehensive, high-quality dental care in a safe, comfortable, and convenient environment. They also value a dentist who is friendly, empathetic, and communicative, and who listens to their concerns and addresses their needs.

This is what it takes to become a well-loved dentist! It's our job to provide these skills to our patients and ensure that we are meeting their expectations as a dentist.
